Even during the crisis, sales professionals were in demand. Not to mention good sellers. How will the situation change in 2010? What vacancies are currently the most demanded and what kind of job plan can applicants expect?
Since the beginning of the 2010 year, the weekly increase in unemployment has decreased three times, compared with the 2009 year. This year the figures are 1,25% versus 4%. According to the official data of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia, unemployment in Russia over the past week has grown by 1,2% - this amounts to 2,232 million people.
To date, 59 688 unemployed are registered in Moscow, that is, 0,9% of the economically active population. And this is the lowest level in the country.
According to experts, in 2010 the number of officially registered unemployed will vary from 70 to 120 thousand people.
Programs to stabilize the labor market will cost the budget 4 billion rubles, of which federal budget funds will amount to 3,1 billion rubles. Within the framework of special programs, it is planned to double public and temporary work, retraining the population by 2, 3 times (according to the retraining plan, there will be 18 800 people).
Exclusion method
Many companies associated with the shoe business place vacancies on their own websites, rather than on common aggregators, since they believe that this type of business requires a different approach in selecting candidates for the position.
There is an opinion that 78% of visitors to specialized sites perceive the work of a sales consultant as a temporary shelter. It is not profitable for companies to spend resources on training and internships on them, knowing that at any time the accepted candidate will find work in their own specialty. Those who look at official sites in 57% of cases show interest in the company. They are purposefully looking for an opportunity to get a job there.
The main tool for selecting applicants is still the interview (95,6%), professional testing (39%) is also common, and every tenth company can face psychological tests. All other technologies and selection tools are found only in isolated cases, for example, only two companies participating in the survey use a lie detector to test candidates.
A sore point, of course, is the reduction of employees. According to the results of the 2009 year, 89,7% of the companies managed to retain key employees, and 88,2% do not plan to reduce staff in the 2010 year. Another delicate point is litigation with employees who have been reduced. In 2009, only 3,3% of companies had to sue their former employees.
Strange paradox
Studying open vacancies, we found a paradox - the requirements for the applicant are in no way related to the proposed salary.
