At the presentation of the new John Lobb collection, brand designer Paul Herbase gave a very short answer to the question of what inspired her to create the fall'17 collection: “water!”
She believes that water is like an “undetected hero”, it occupies a central place in everything that produces the British brand, born 1886 in the seaside town of Cornwall. John Lobb is headquartered in the countryside near the Northampton River (Northamptonshire, England).
“It makes sense to place production near the river, as all shoe makers do, because water is necessary for tanning leather. In addition, water is one of the tools that allows you to create shine for shoes.
